With the warm year-round weather and natural beauty found here in Florida, the Orlando area is a golfer’s paradise to say the least! Incredibly the region offers 75 golf courses in and around town within 20 miles of Orlando’s town center.  

On this page I offer summary info about all of them including links to their individual web pages on GolfLink.com. (Just click on the title of each course.) I have organized them alphabetically by the distance from the middle of town. 

You can find info about every kind of golf course here; public, private, 18-hole, 9-hole, beginner or advanced. Some are located in beautiful resorts and golf communities, so you can live within walking distance of your favorite course.  

Some are designed by famous professional golfers--Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tom Watson to name a few. (They were involved in the design and creation of three different 18-hole championship courses on the 2,300-acre Reunion Resort & ClubSM just minutes from Walt Disney World®. 

Golf courses located at resorts have the added benefit of other sports being offered as well. That way there is something for every member of the family and a variety of activities for the golfer after the game as well. Many resorts have swimming pools, tennis courses, spas and fitness centers. Some even have equestrian centers. 

Other golf courses are located at some of Orlando’s best known attractions. Walt Disney World® itself has six of its own courses! Enjoy!

Interest Rates >Locking in Loan Rates

It is important for both new homebuyers and homeowners who want to refinance to understand how to lock in an interest rate when applying for a mortgage loan. Understanding how rate locks work prepares you to evaluate your options.

While you are in the process of applying for your mortgage loan, interest rates will most likely fluctuate from day to day and week to week. If you want assurance that the wonderfully low interest rate on your loan will not increase while you are waiting for loan approval, ask for a rate lock. A conventional rate lock is a guarantee from the lender that your mortgage will carry a particular interest rate, with specific, predetermined points and fees.

The interest rate is "locked in" for a specified period of time, usually thirty days. When you call a lender for a rate quote, ask how long that rate will last for. If you think you might need more than thirty days to complete your home purchase or refinance, tell your lender how many days you will require, and they will give you an adjusted rate quote.

Rate locks are especially useful if interest rates are on the upswing, and you are concerned about ending up with higher monthly payments. If you cannot afford the risk of a further interest rate increase, lock in your loan rate now.
